Daphne “Twerk Girl” Avalon

September 23, 2013 @ 7:33 pm

You know her as the beautiful young stuntwoman without whom the famous #TWERKFAIL video and the pop culture phenomenon that followed would not be possible. Daphne Avalon teamed up with the people at Jimmy Kimmel Live to stage a YouTube prank that fooled not only me, not only the American public, but news outlets across the country. If you haven’t seen the video by now, which might be mathematically impossible given its millions and millions of views, the hoax was revealed in brilliant fashion on Jimmy Kimmel Live earlier in September HERE, highlighting the many newscasts who covered the viral video in extremely serious segments focusing on “The Dangers of Twerking.” Although this might be Daphne’s legacy for a while, there is a whole lot more to the USC grad who has been practicing stunt work for years, and even appears riding a horse in a Call of Duty commercial! Daphne joins me to discuss the #TWERKFAIL video from all angles, how it came about, how they kept it a secret, what she got paid, how many takes they did, and much more! PLUS, the question that has been on everyone’s mind since Daphne twerked into our lives is answered...is Daphne single!? Find out on this week’s episode of A Shot of Yager! A fun show as always! Be sure to follow Daphne on twitter @DaphneAvalon and be on the look out for her Blue 8 Stunt Team who will providing online courses in the near future! And remember kids...don’t twerk and drive.

Mick Foley

September 8, 2013 @ 8:11 pm

Mick Foley will always be remembered as the international wrestling superstar who is not only responsible for popularizing the hardcore style that took the WWF/WWE into their most popular period of all time with one big fall off a cage, but also as a New York Times Best Selling Author, a generous contributor to numerous charities such as RAINN, and now, a popular stand up comedian. Mick will be dropping by the Funny Bone in Hartford, CT. on Wednesday, September 11th and info on all Mick’s dates can be found online at www.RealMickFoley.com. It was a pleasure to be joined by Mick, who was and always will be a childhood hero of mine, about his transition into the cut-throat world of standup comedy, his famous Hell in A Cell match with The Undertaker, the documentary he starred in Beyond the Mat, the documentary he is working on now about Santa Claus, his books, charity work and much much more! Follow Mick on twitter @RealMickFoley and be sure to look for him at comedy clubs near you for a fun show that is a great night of laughs for wrestling fans and non-wrestling fans alike. Yeah, cause a lot of wrestling fans are going to have dates that aren’t wrestling fans. I kid, I kid. If you’ve ever read or seen Mick you know that he was born to do standup comedy and tell stories on stage and this podcast is even further proof of that! A fun show that definitely gets filed under the category of personal thrills.

Comedian Pablo Francisco

September 2, 2013 @ 7:04 pm

There’s nothing better than a standup who not only can pull off several dead-on impersonations, but can weave them in and out of their act to the point where you feel like you’re watching way more than just one dude. Pablo Francisco is one of the best impressionists around, and certainly my favorite. He’s so good at doing the movie trailer voice...that he actually does movie trailer voice overs now. You know him from Mad TV, Comedy Central and comedy clubs all around the country where he continues to sell out each and every week. This week he’s dropping by the Funny Bone in Manchester CT. September 5th through the 8th so go check him out! If you are a fan of Pablo’s or have never even seen his standup than this a podcast for you as Pablo hits me with tons of voices and may have been my most energetic guest yet, which came at no surprise. Check him out at www.PabloFrancisco.com to see when he’ll be dropping by a club near you and follow the man on twitter @Pablo_Francisco - This is definitely a podcast that fans of comedy do NOT want to miss! ENJOY!
